The MUT is informed that some schools are already giving directions regarding online teaching from Monday. The union directs members to ignore any directions at this stage until discussions with the Ministry and respective sectors are concluded today and tomorrow.

The MUT welcomes the decision by the government to close all education institutions from Monday. The government has accepted the MUT’s proposal as presented this afternoon during the meeting held. The MUT shall be working with educators and respective stakeholders for the transition to online learning.

The MUT has communicated with the Superintendence of Public Health to request that the process to vaccinate students who currently are, or shall be, following teaching practices or practice placements in schools is given priority. This is being requested so that these students are included with educators and school personnel who are currently taking vaccinations.
