Thank you for seeking to join the Malta Union of Teachers. In order to become a member, one needs to submit by post or personally the following documents:
- the filled-in enrolment form;
- the equivalent of one year’s fee, which is currently set at €45 annually (note: please do not send cash by post);
- the SEPA Direct Debit Mandate which will enable automatic membership renewal for the subsequent years. The fee collection through SEPA is usually made every January. More about this below.
All submissions will be considered and members will be confirmed once approved by the MUT Council. However please note that membership will only be raised to the MUT Council for approval – and the member can then be offered the Unions’ services – once all documents, including the SEPA Direct Debit Mandate, have been submitted.
The Enrolment Form
Click HERE to download. Please print, fill-in and send as explained above.
Before signing and submitting the application form, please make sure to read the text in all pages and to take a look at the MUT Code of Rules here. By becoming a member of the MUT, one will have to abide by these Code of Rules.
SEPA Direct Debit
Please note that following a Council decision, as from 2016 SEPA Direct Debit for new members is mandatory. This means that apart from the enrolment form and the equivalent of one year’s fee, new members need to submit the SEPA Direct Debit Mandate which can be downloaded HERE.
Through SEPA Direct Debit members will be authorising the Malta Union of Teachers to send instructions to the bank to debit the indicated account for membership fee every year until retirement or resignation. Members will be informed in advance each time such a transaction takes place. Please note that this form has to be submitted to the MUT and not to the bank.
