The MUT is noting that the number of relievers in kindergarten has been reduced drastically following the February intake. This is resulting in an additional workload on KGEs. In view of this, the MUT is directing all KGEs in State schools to refrain from carrying out any inputting in the new online system.

The MUT is directing all SMT members to refrain from acting on the respective communication issued by the DG DES entitled ‘Risk Assessment in Schools’ and dated 5th February 2020. The parameters which were communicated have not been discussed and agreed upon with the MUT.

The MUT notes that some members are being expected to use assessment for learning techniques which were never agreed upon with MUT. The Union is thus directing members to refrain from providing any such assessment modes and to stick with the assessment modes as outlined in the respective syllabi. The MUT has been in communication with the DLAP within MEDE whereby it requested an extension to the marking days. It was agreed that the marking days shall be extended from 6 (six) days from the date of the exam to 10 (ten) days from the date of the exam.
