MCAST ICT Labs without air-conditioning: an update

Teaching load distribution and replacements
The MUT wrote to the Director for Education Resources after it received a complaint from members at Mosta Zokrija Secondary School in relation to teaching load distribution and replacements. The Union asked the DES to look into the matter and the Director for Education Resources has confirmed that he is looking into this.

“Training Course for Supervisors” issue resolved
The issue related to the “Performance Management Skills Training Course for Supervisors” course is now resolved after the MUT was contacted by the Ministry for Education and Employment (MEDE) on the said issue outlined here. Directive on Outings and Meetings Forms at St. Thomas More College
The MUT is informed that St. Thomas More College has created templates and forms for educational outings and for departmental meetings which the Union considers an insult to the teaching profession and to educators alike. The MUT therefore directs all members at this College to ignore these templates.

Trends and issues in Education to be discussed during EY event

MUT to ask for recognition at St Patrick’s Salesian School
The MUT has asked for a meeting to be held with the Headmaster at St Patrick’s Salesian School in order to discuss the prospect of trade union recognition with respect to teachers, LSAs and psychologist employed with this school. The Union will inform respective educators on the outcome of the meeting accordingly.
