Updated: MUT requests MCAST level 4 Courses to be deemed eligible for KGE call

The MUT contacted MEDE after it was informed that the new call for KGE stipulates a request for 120ECTS. The issue is that MCAST graduates in early years followed the BTEC course prior to the change to homegrown courses in 2016. The BTEC course is deemed as a full qualification at Level 4 in the MQF. The MUT is requesting this requirement to be amended so that legitimate BTEC courses are not made ineligible from the respective board. It is unacceptable for MEDE to have a requirement in place which effectively makes Level 4 courses by MCAST, a government entity, meaningless.

UPDATED: Following the MUT’s intervention, the call has been updated to include that applicants in possession of an MQF Level 4 in Early Childhood Education and Care (BTEC) pre 2016 are also eligible to apply.
