MUT on the Situation in Turkey
The Malta Union of Teachers, as a trade union that values democracy and teachers’ rights, is worried about the situation evolving in Turkey and expresses solidarity and supports our Turkish colleagues. MUT condemns coups but what is being reported that is happening post the failed coup is equally condemnable.
Meanwhile, the MUT is verifying the news and is following closely the situation with sources through the ETUCE and EGITIM-SEN, who have already issued a statement against the large scale violation of Turkish education employees’ rights. The MUT appeals that common sense prevails and that Turkish authorities unacceptable developments currently being reported.
