These include Counsellors, Career Advisors, Youth Workers, Resource Workers, Play Workers and all the grades within the Student Support Services stream.  The directives are being issued following the failure in the negotiations of a new agreement with the government as declared by the MUT on 13th March 2026 and subsequently through the trade dispute issued on 30th March 2026. The agreement expired in December 2023.

ESP, SESP and PESP grades are directed to:

  1. Refrain from compiling and submitting forecasts and record of work
  2. Refrain from compiling and submitting written reports and data
  3. Refrain from accepting new cases or referrals
  4. Refrain from participating in or supporting CPD (COPE) or similar training
  5. Refrain from participating in or supporting talks, fairs and workshops
  6. Refrain from attending psychosocial meetings
  7. Refrain from using personal devices for work-communication

The directives will be effective from Thursday 16th April 2026. The MUT shall support all ESP, SESP and PESP grades who shall be following these directives.
