During a visit to newly elected MUT Officials by the Permanent Secretary at MEDE Dr Frank Fabri together with Directors General Mr Ian Mifsud, Ms Maria Mc Namara and Ms Maria Galea, MUT Officials outlined the commitment taken by the newly elected President during the electoral campaign that the Learning Outcomes Framework (LOF) implementation shall not be carried out from September 2017 to enable both parties to discuss its implications in the context of the sectoral agreement which will include a wide-ranging consultation process by the Union with members. During the meeting it was agreed that the LOF shall not be implemented in September 2017 to enable the said process to be carried out. Following a Council meeting held today, the Union communicated with the Ministry for Education and Employment to re-activate negotiations on the sectoral agreement.
