The MUT is holding a number of meetings with the Ministry and the management of respective entities regarding the current dispute and directives about the return to workplaces. The union is also meeting affected members. The MUT notes that there is variation between one workplace and another regarding measures being taken to ensure adherence with the protocols/guidelines in place. However the two main issues which are still pending overall are the risk assessment and the telework. Despite commitment that workplaces shall have updated risk assessments, these are still being carried out in most workplaces whilst some have not initiated the process. Furthermore, despite the clear direction that telework shall be granted, the MUT is informed that there is resistance from some management to approve telework. Whilst affected employees are still proceeding with their work remotely, the MUT shall not be lifting its directives unless it is satisfied that satisfactory arrangements are being made in terms of health and safety at workplaces and telework provisions.
