Rigid healthy eating policy will deprive students from birthday and Christmas activities
The enforcement of the healthy eating policy in schools will signify that schools will not be able to organise any activity involving food. The policy is highly restrictive on the type of food which is allowed, which shall mean that schools will have to eliminate any food from events. Furthermore, schools cannot be expected to check percentages of nutritional values for every item including those brought by students themselves. This shall also result in students not bringing birthday cakes to schools, not holding traditional activities such as during Easter, San Martin, and carnival. The MUT has communicated with the Ministry to address this situation. Meanwhile schools are trying to deal with the said situations.
