MUT deplores stealing of posts from its Facebook closed group
The MUT notes that discussions between educators in the MUT Facebook Closed Group have ended as news items in sections of the press without permission. Whilst accepting that whatever is discussed on social media is never strictly private, the Union expects that journalists working on such news items have at least the decency of speaking to the person who posted the item instead of just stealing their comments and publishing them including a screenshot with name and photo. The MUT encourages discussions between its members to share comments, experiences and concerns, and this kind of backhanded tactic is disappointing and deplorable. The MUT looks forward to continuing its relationship with all media houses and the press through its official channels.
