MUT declares Trade Dispute with MCAST on salary issues – industrial action to follow
The MUT has informed the MCAST management and Ministry for Education and Employment that it is declaring a Trade Dispute with the college following the failure of MCAST to adhere to the provisions of the Collective Agreement regarding the issue of salaries and allowances. The Union has been raising this issue from the first days of this academic year (see links below) and has reached an agreement with MCAST and the Ministry to have the situation solved with the last salary issued. Despite this, MCAST has repeated the series of mistakes in salaries and arrears. The Union shall be communicating with members about the industrial actions that shall follow.
The MUT raised the issue previously as follows:
29th October: Update on Situation at MCAST
26th October: Incompetence at MCAST Finance Office Unacceptable – Trade Dispute and Industrial Action to be announced on Monday
2nd October: MCAST Salary Adjustments Messed Up in Spite of MUT Warning
