Esplora launches its 4th Education Programme 2019 – 2020

The MUT has received the following from Esplora:

Heads of School and Education Officers are kindly requested to circulate the 2019-2020 Esplora Education Programme link to all teachers, KGEs, LSEs and other education staff members. It contains details about the forthcoming events and activities that will be offered at Esplora – Malta’s National Interactive Science Centre.

The Education Programme is an aid whereby teachers can find all the information needed to plan and book a visit to the Science Centre. The Esplora Education Programme caters for Early Years, Early Primary, Late Primary, Middle School and Secondary School students. Further and Higher Education students can also have interactive visits tailor-made for them.

The popular thematic events such as Halloween, Superheroes in Science, Christmas at Esplora and Kuluri Karnival have kept their place. The much-loved Toi Toi performances produced by Teatru Manoel in collaboration with Esplora have returned once again with a fresh set of shows.

This year the programme features a section which is dedicated to the National STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Careers Expo aimed at Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students. This initiative together with the University of Malta, The Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology, the National School Support Services within the Ministry for Education and Employment and a number of industry partners will be held in January 2020 at Esplora. The Late Primary students will not only get a chance to meet professionals working within the STEM fields but will also be engaged in several hands-on activities to shine a light on the knowledge, skills and competences needed for particular jobs. This year Esplora also launched two Masterclasses in Marine Biology and in Emerging Technologies for secondary school students for the first time.

Bookings for visits to Esplora are open and can be made by contacting Esplora on bookings@esplora.org.mt or call on 23602299. A dedicated School Visits Bookings Office will be attending to any questions you might have. Hard copies of the Education Programme will be distributed to schools by post in the coming days.

Further information about Esplora is available on the website www.esplora.org.mt. Bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you all a fruitful academic year.
