Discussions with MCAST during conciliation meeting fail – directives shall remain

The MUT and MCAST held a conciliation meeting with DIER this afternoon to try to unblock the situation following the declaration of three trade disputes by the MUT. Few minutes before the said conciliation, MCAST tried to change parameters agreed upon to proceed with conciliation, namely that the agreement for Managerial grades would be signed whilst the MUT suspends the directives to enable conciliation.

However, MCAST presented what they referred to as a ‘scrittura privata’ aimed at binding the MUT not to issue directives, claiming that unless the MUT signs this document they shall not proceed with the signing of the Managers’ agreement. The MUT will not sign any ‘scrittura privata’ with MCAST.

To this effect, the MUT attended the conciliation meeting without signing any document and without lifting directives. The conciliation meeting failed, and was called off by the DIER, after MCAST persisted in its position to the detriment of all.
