Directive for members providing Peripatetic services to refuse changes in nature of their work

The MUT wrote to the DES DG Designate after receiving information that a particular College has implemented a number of abusive practices without seeking permission of the Directorate. One example is that the College Principal is making Complementary teachers substitute absent class teachers. The Union asked to investigate what is going on and to take the necessary steps to regulate this Principal and/or Resources Department. Meanwhile, the Union is directing all members at all State School Colleges providing a peripatetic service, including Complementary teachers but not only, to refuse further changes in their work including transfers from a service to a classroom, or transfers from a school to another, if these orders are not issued as determined by the Directorate.

In a reply, the DG Designate stated that the situation is being discussed to find alternatives and possibilities.
