Conference on handwriting
A “Handwriting Conference” is being held by the Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services (POTS) in collaboration with the National Handwriting Association in the UK. It is specifically directed towards occupational therapists and teaching personnel and helps at addressing several queries and difficulties encountered by children when learning how to adequately hold a pencil, form letters and facilitate literacy in the younger generation. The conference will also address the use of IT in teaching handwriting, as to when and how it should be used. The conference will be held between the 4th and 6th July at The Palace Hotel in Sliema. Speakers include Dr. Melissa Prunty, who is a paediatric occupational therapist and lecturer in occupational therapy at Brunel University in London, and Ms. Catherine Elsey, an Occupational Therapist who has worked predominantly in neurology, specialising in paediatrics.
