Clarification regarding allocation of load to Form Teachers in state Secondary schools
The Union would like to remind members and schools about the loading of form teachers as agreed upon with MEDE when the 40-lesson timetable was introduced. Official duties carried out by form teachers during the week, such as assembly time, need to be included in the weekly teaching load when assigning replacements. This is in addition to the allocation of one lesson per week to form teachers to carry out duties in connection with School Leaving Certificates and Profiles. Members are invited to contact the Union in case of difficulties.
