Clarification on the Education Sectoral Agreement Talks
The MUT refers to references being made in various meetings within the Education Directorates, and in schools, concerning the talks on the Education Sectoral Agreement. The MUT is informed that during such meetings, an impression is being erroneously and irresponsibly given that talks on the agreement have reached an advanced stage and that the Union is expected to sign the agreement soon.
The MUT wishes to clarify that talks on the agreement are in a very premature phase and that it cannot for-see closure of the agreement anytime soon. At any rate, the final draft of the agreement will be presented for approval of the MUT representatives prior to signing.
The MUT is issuing this clarification to dispel the unfair and irresponsible rumours being propagated in such meetings.
