Clarification on Temporary Absence leave
The MUT refers to temporary absence leave introduced in the new Sectoral Agreement of State schools and in the Collective Agreement of Church Schools. The MUT clarifies that this leave can be availed of by all educators after obtaining the respective permission of management. This permission shall not be refused without a valid reason. If refused it must be due to a situation whereby the school cannot have the educator replaced during the requested leave period. All opportunities must be provided so that this leave can be utilised upon request.
