The MUT held the first negotiation meeting with St. Edward’s College on the collective agreement. During this meeting, attended by the new MUT leadership and included the MUT delegate, the way forward on the negotiations was agreed by all parts.

Following the press conference on Monday, the MUT has asked the Minister for Education and Employment for an urgent meeting to discuss proposals to counter-measure the crisis in the teaching profession, proposals about Hamrun Secondary Problems and the Adaptation Course of the Education Institute. The Mariam Al Batool School Board of Trustees has confirmed with the MUT that it has agreed to recognise the Union as the one representing teaching grades at the school. The MUT looks forward to cooperating with the school for the benefit of the school and all concerned.

The MUT has asked for a meeting to be held with the Headmaster at St Patrick’s Salesian School in order to discuss the prospect of trade union recognition with respect to teachers, LSAs and psychologist employed with this school. The Union will inform respective educators on the outcome of the meeting accordingly.
