Trade dispute and directive on MATSEC VET deadlines
The MUT has declared a trade dispute with the Ministry for Education regarding the directions by MATSEC to schools, particularly the deadlines on VET submissions and the increasing expectations on educators. Despite attempts to have the deadline shifted and due consideration given to educators and schools, MATSEC forged ahead with its expectations at the detriment of educators, who have to go beyond their duties each time MATSEC creates additional work to be done and submitted. All this is being expected by MATSEC when it is not even an employer.
To this effect, following directives issued last week, the MUT is now issuing a directive to members to refrain from carrying any work on VET assessment of MATSEC.
