Note on leave procedures and practices
The MUT would like to notify members that the COVID-19 link persons do not have the authority of advising or ordering educators to go on either sick, quarantine leave, special leave or self-isolation. Sick is to be taken by the individual on a personal level as per usual practice, quarantine leave needs to be taken following a notification by Health Authority personnel only while special leave must follow the sectoral agreement procedures. Also, only in the case of quarantine leave educators are to be expected to work from home. In the case of sick and special leave, they are not.
