Following the news update reported last week on the unacceptable situation at the Pieta’ Primary School, the DG Operations replied with the measures that are being taken to resolve current security issues. A number of officials visited the school and measures include a Police report which included evidence collected on the case mentioned by the Union, discussion with staff at the school so as to make sure money, laptops and other portable resources are secured properly to reduce risk of theft, lights are being installed for the school to be properly lighted to avoid dark areas, and CCTV cameras will be increased to cover more areas. The DG stated that all this is being done in consultation with the Head of School and College Principal. The Union will follow this issue closely to make sure these measures are implemented to secure the safety of students, staff and premises accordingly.
