Press Release: Administrative problems at MCAST persist – over 40 lecturing grades receive wrong salaries
Over forty lecturing grades at MCAST have (until this morning) reported wrong calculations in salaries and arrears following the receipt of their first salary of 2019. This is contrary to the statement released by MCAST claiming that all lecturers are happy with what they received. The situation is other than solved and MCAST management are well aware that they only had to adhere to clauses of the collective agreement upon industrial actions ordered by MUT. MUT is following these 40 cases so that all personnel receive their dues. Meanwhile it is suspending the directives in force to enable further dialogue with MCAST on pending issues including Progressions, Sabbatical, and Professorship grades. MUT is expecting MCAST to respect time-frames as established in the same agreement and shall not hesitate to resort to further industrial actions should this not be the case.
