MUT meets University of Malta Junior College lecturing grades – strike was successful whilst directives remain in force
During a meeting with lecturing grades at the University of Malta Junior College, the union thanked members for following the industrial action consisting of a two-hour strike on Monday followed by a one-day strike on Tuesday. Information which reached the MUT indicates that the strike was successful as the absolute majority of lecturing grades followed the industrial action. The MUT shall now be meeting the Ministry for Education and Sport, University of Malta management and Government representatives later this week whereby the MUT expects that an improved proposal for the collective agreement is received. In the absence of progress, the union in discussion with affected members shall consider escalation of industrial actions.
