MUT declares its mistrust in personnel being chosen by the St Albert the Great Rector and board – proposed meeting with Rector cancelled from their end

In a communication sent to the Dominican Order, the Secretariat for Catholic Education and the Directorate for Quality and Standards within the Ministry of Education, the MUT extended its mistrust in personnel being selected by the rector and board. This follows the declaration of mistrust in the same rector and board, which led to an industrial dispute.

The situation at St Albert College remains critical, with more resignations of educators, no preparations for reopening and empty promises to educators, parents and students. A meeting planned for today and coordinated between MUT lawyers and the lawyers of the rector has been cancelled by the rector’s lawyers at the last minute.

Meanwhile, the union has been holding regular meetings with educators at the college and its position reflects the feedback of educators, who still have no idea about the preparations for the reopening of the new scholastic year to take place within days. The union reaffirms that it is willing to support the Dominican Order on condition that the rector and board resign or are removed from office.
