MUT concerned about safety issues in State Schools due to expired Lifts Service Agreement
The MUT has been communicating with the Education Logistics and Support Unit within the Directorate for Educational Services (DES) since July after it was informed that the service agreement for lifts in State Schools has expired and was not renewed. This would mean that with no agreement in place there is a breach of law and the MUT is most of all concerned for the safety and security of everyone using these lifts. The MUT has asked the DES to clarify immediately and to put everyone’s mind at rest that the issue is being taken care of before the beginning of the scholastic year. The lack of response from the respective Directorate is of concern since the scholastic year is starting very soon.
