MUT celebrates its foundation day
Today, 22nd November the MUT is celebrating the Foundation Day. Founded in 1919 at the Floriana Primary school, the Union has supported thousands of educators and personnel in the education sector along the years and has shaped the educational milestone of the nation. MUT has teamed up with the Floriana Local Council to commemorate the activity at the Mall Garden. Minister Clifton Grima, Mayor Nigel Holland, MUT Officials, Council and staff participated in a flower-laying ceremony at the MUT monument.
Erected in 2019, the monument by sculptor Chris Ebejer with inscriptions by the late Prof Oliver Friggieri is a symbol of wisdom and the power of education to open the doors to a better future.
