Head of Schools not responsible for appraisals of clerical grades
Following correspondence sent to Head of Schools by the Principal Permanent Secretary, the MUT asked the Ministry why the PPS has made training about appraisals mandatory to Heads when appraisals of educators are regulated by the current sectoral agreement and are currently not in place following a suspension dating back a number of years.
In a reply by the DG Operations, the persons who should attend the said course are Finance & Administration Officers as supervisors to clerical grades and College Principals as their next level supervisors. The MUT therefore understanding that Heads of Schools are not responsible for appraisals of clerical grades and are therefore not required to attend the said course.
