Directive – virtual school, secondary
The MUT is informed that the Ministry for Education shall be opening a virtual school for secondary school despite the clear disagreement about its implementation, which shall affect conditions of works of educators and school requirements. Contrary to the virtual school for primary, there are no educators available to run the virtual school concurrently with face-to-face teaching and the resulting workload shall be untenable.
In view of this situation, the union is directing all Teachers and LSEs in secondary schools to refrain from carrying out lessons or support in the virtual school. The union is also directing schools SLT to refrain from carrying out any duties related to the virtual school in secondary schools. The union shall be ready to escalate the matter further if the Ministry proceeds with its directions without consideration.
