Directive to Education Officers – refusal of duties of Assistant Directors
The MUT is aware about the Government’s plans to reduce the number of Assistant Directors at the Ministry for Education and Sport. This shall mean that each department shall only have one Assistant Director, contrary to the current practice of a number of Assistant Directors in each department. The union has requested discussion with the Ministry on this urgent issue, but these are not forthcoming. In view of the imminent reduction in the number of Assistant Directors, the MUT is hereby directing all Education Officers to refuse to accept any duty which was previously carried out by Assistant Directors.
