Directive – SBA marks
The MUT refers to the direction being given to schools whereby schools are being expected to carry out any requested amendments to SBA marks following the publication of SEC results. This request shall affect the validity and reliability of SBA and shall lead to an abuse of the SEC system. There were two scholastic years where students could question SBA marks, and certainly not after the publication of SEC results. In the absence of any action by the Education Ministry to address this issue, the MUT is directing all educators in secondary schools to refrain from amending any SBA mark following the publication of the SEC results. Educators are also being directed to refrain from acting upon any communication regarding SBA marks which is issued by MATSEC or anyone else.
