Directive for members to refrain from remaining in class with student teachers

The MUT wrote to the DGs after it was notified by members at a number of schools that they are being forced to remain in class whenever there is a University student teacher. It stated that as the Union anticipated more than a year ago, the Faculty of Education has failed in finding mentors to cover its meagre number of students and is now expecting other people to do their jobs with the excuse that they suddenly discovered that student teachers are not covered by a warrant. The Union stated that this is simply entering through a backdoor after failing to construct a proper entrance. In this light, the Union directed all MUT members to revert to usual arrangements and refrain from remaining in class with a student teacher unless they are University appointed mentors.
