Declaration of trade dispute with the Secretariat for Catholic Education
The MUT has declared a trade dispute with the Secretariat for Catholic Education, who is the signatory of the collective agreement with the MUT for all educators in all Church schools. This dispute has been declared since St Albert the Great College rector entertained discussions of a collective nature with upe through an invitation to carry out a school visit. Negotiations of a collective nature concerning educators can only be carried out between MUT, as the sole recognised union representing educators, and the Secretariat for Catholic Education. No other union was and can be involved. The union referred the matter to the Archbishop, the Directorate for Industrial Relations and to the Ministry for Education and shall be following this up with industrial actions as required.
