Clarification on Prince’s Trust XL Programme
The Union held a meeting yesterday with the Minister for Education and Employment, the Permanent Secretary, the DG DES, the Director for HRD and a representative from the Prince’s Trust from the UK. From the meeting it emerged that there appears to be a gross misunderstanding in a number of schools about who is to implement this programme. The Prince’s Trust XL programme will this year be implemented in only 7 schools, which are the following:
1: Verdala Boys Secondary
2: Mater Dei School
3: Hamrun Liceo
4: ALP Paola
5: Mosta Boys Zokrija
6: Kirkop St Benedict Boys
7: Gozo College BSS
Schools that are NOT listed in this list are not enlisted in the Prince’s Trust programme and they are to be given clear instructions (by the Directorates) that they should stick to the programmes that they used last year or other programmes as agreed with the Director General. Union members working at these schools are therefore advised to avoid working on Prince’s Trust modules or anything connected to this programme until such time as the programme is implemented in their own school (definitely not this scholastic year).
