University of Malta Junior College Lecturers approve new Collective Agreement
With 99% of the member vote in favour, the University of Malta Junior College lecturers have today agreed to conditions of work and salaries as part of the new Collective Agreement for the College. Following a process which involved meetings to explain the highlights of the agreement and some days allocated for members to view the text, lecturers voted overwhelmingly to approve the new work conditions that include, among others, an improved financial package.
In a comment, the MUT President Marco Bonnici thanked all members at the University of Malta Junior College, particularly for their support during the lengthy negotiation process that included trade disputes and industrial action.
“The MUT now looks forward to proceeding with the signing of the agreement and to ensure its implementation at once. The MUT also thanks its delegates and committee, the University of Malta and Junior College management, the Permanent Secretary and the Minister for Education, Sports, Youths, Research and Innovation and other high Public Service Officials for their interventions to achieve this agreement.”
