Educators being denied PSMC leave provisions – objection
The MUT has protested with the Ministry for Education following a number of requests for leave in accordance with the Public Service Management Code (PSMC) which have not been granted. The Ministry is making up all sort of excuses to refrain from granting leave to educators, at times citing replacement issues, at times citing capacity building and other reasons. The union shall not accept that educators are denied leave entitlement simply to keep up appearances by giving the impression that there are little or no vacant posts. Ultimately the denial of such leave will lead to resignations from employment. The union is protesting about these decisions which are detrimental to educators.
