MUT appeals for change of laptops before new scholastic year
In correspondence with the Ministry for Education and Employment (MEDE), the MUT stated that the issue of the change of laptops is very important especially considering the strong possibility of educators working online in the new scholastic year. The union stated that the Ministry is aware that educators’ laptops are at the end of their operational cycle and the MUT is expecting their replacement. The union’s appeal is therefore to expedite the ongoing process to have new laptops distributed before the start of the scholastic year. The MUT also informed the Church authorities about the correspondence with MEDE and appealed that the same is carried out by Church schools.
In a reply, the Permanent Secretary stated that the Ministry is taking the necessary measures to start the said process. Meanwhile newly employed educators are being informed to collect the laptop assigned to them.
