Work-life balance measures questioned by MEDE
The MUT has been following the developments in the allocation of telework to Education Officers (EOs) employed by the Ministry of Education and Employment (MEDE). Despite assurance from MEDE high officials that there shall be no changes in the allocation of telework, the Union is informed that the allocation of this important work-life measure is being questioned and in some cases contested. This goes against the government direction to promote work-life balance measures in all sectors. The MUT is appalled to see that the same Ministry, responsible for employment, is apparently taking measures to reduce the allocation of telework to its employees. The Union is following the matter closely and shall be directing members accordingly.
