Updates on the COVID-19 situation: Skolasajf, dismantling of classrooms, hygiene
The MUT has been following the current news and would like to note the following:
– with regards to SkolaSajf there has not been any agreement on the way forward. Even though the MUT commends that plans are being prepared, it is the direction from the Health authorities and the COVID-19 situation which will determine whether it will ultimately start.
– dismantling of classrooms, including kindergarten, is currently being discussed and will be notified to members in due time. Every effort will be made for educators to get all their possessions back, give all students their things and making sure everyone is safe. The current schedule is however intended for books necessary for online learning.
– when ultimately schools restart, whether in September or later, the MUT will need to agree with the Ministry and other employers on a plan related to hygiene including cleaning, adequate supplies and practices that would need to be introduced for the benefit of everyone. The MUT is stating this in advance particularly in relation to cleaning supplies such as alcohol rubs, soap, etc so that the story witnessed last March does not repeat itself.
The MUT understands the difficult time everyone is experiencing and we’re doing our utmost in the circumstances. Let us continue doing our best and ask for help and assistance when in need while making sure to take every measure needed to care of ourselves as necessary.
