Teachers for the Visually Impaired in State Schools
The MUT wrote to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Education and Employment after is was made aware that the team of teachers for the visually impaired has been reduced to only one full timer and one teacher who will be working for two days out of five weekly (the person is on reduced hours). Meanwhile following a rough calculation this team should be made up of at least five full timers. The Union made an appeal for an intervention at the earliest especially since after seven months following interviews conducted and results published, no teacher has been appointed to this unit.
