The MUT is sharing the latest communication sent to the Hon Minister:
Dear Hon Grima,
The MUT is bringing the serious concerns of educators to your attention. National authorities are warning the public to remain indoors, employees in the public service are being given the possibility to work remotely and yet schools remain open with all the forthcoming risks to educators and students who shall be commuting to attend schools in the early morning. The MUT is concerned about the situation and is expecting that the safety of students and educators comes first. Decisions should be taken based on the health and safety of students and educators and not on the economic effect of closing schools for a day. Ultimately the national authorities including the educational ones are responsible for any decision taken and its effects on students and educators alike.
