One time payment to retired educators
The MUT and the Education Ministry have agreed about the implementation of a measure of the sectoral agreement whereby all educators who retired after 1st January 2023 and before the signing of the sectoral agreement shall be entitled to the one-time payment issued as part of the sectoral agreement. This payment has already been issued to all educators who were in employment on the date of signing of the sectoral agreement but was not issued to educators who retired before the signing date. The measure recognises the extensive work carried out by educators who have since retired. The Ministry is communicating with affected educators. The MUT is following up the matter with the Church Secretariat for the equivalent provision to be implemented.
