MUT Requests Ministry to process increases in Church School financial package
Following discussion with MUT members in Church Schools, the MUT is requesting the Ministry for Education and Employment to start the process to provide the increments and allowances as indicated in the Sectoral Agreement between the Government of Malta and the Malta Union of Teachers dated 21st December 2017 to all educators working at Church Schools. In its request, the MUT stated that this would be similar to when increases were announced as part of the Public Service Collective Agreement signed in April 2017. Again, all allowances part of the Sectoral Agreement will be given to all educators employed by Church Schools whatever the outcome of the negotiations with the Secretariat for Catholic Education and therefore by providing them negotiations would be able to move forward without further undue pressure. All increments and allowances will be back dated to January 2018.
