MUT publishes document with sixty proposals to be presented to political parties
The MUT is hereby presenting its proposals to political parties, entitled MALTA EDUCATION, ahead of the general elections being held on 26th March. The union expects that education is raised in the respective agenda of all political parties and is a central theme in the coming election.
The sixty proposals presented in this document reflect the continuous analysis of the sector being carried out by the MUT through its ongoing dialogue with its members and other stakeholders in the sector. The proposals present a series of solutions to address current challenges, but offer also a vision for education in the coming years. Central to this vision is MALTA EDUCATION, MUT’s proposed initiation of discussions for the transformation of the current State education service to a public sector entity.
During a press conference, MUT President Marco Bonnici stated that “through this document we are encouraging discussion so that together with those who will be entrusted with the administration of the country and the education sector after the next general election, we would start getting things done immediately.”
“It is hoped that these proposals enable a mature national discussion on a new vision for education in a spirit of consensus towards the common good.”
