MUT protests and issues ultimatum to MCAST
The MUT has communicated with MCAST in view of the failed issue of allowances arrears with the November payroll. The communication follows:

Dear Mr Vella,
The MUT has been following the issue of salary adjustments and arrears on the basis of the new collective agreement for the past months. The Union understands the implications of the massive exercise carried out and the limited resources to carry out the process. However for the second month in a row the MCAST promise of the issue of all financial adjustments is not being kept. The October payroll should have included all arrears but they have been postponed to the November payroll. Now that the November payroll is out, we learn that arrears of allowances have not been included for the majority of grades in the agreement. We now have another MCAST promise for arrears to be issued in the next payroll in December.
Based on the last two unkept promises we clearly have no guarantee that dues will be provided in the December payroll. Meanwhile our members are providing all the work that is being requested by MCAST and are respecting all deadlines. We need to see what actions will MCAST take if one of our members does not keep a deadline! To this effect the MUT is notifying that it is protesting strongly with MCAST about the delays and is issuing an ultimatum to MCAST for the issue of all financial adjustments by the next payroll in December.
