Medical leave in Church Schools
The MUT held a meeting with the Church Authorities to discuss feedback of members regarding the HR manual issued few weeks ago. The MUT objected about the interpretation of the clause on medical leave whereby schools are expecting medical appointments at State-run Institutions to be deducted from special leave. This is not in line with the practice in State Schools. The Church authorities agreed to discuss the matter internally but meanwhile they have assured the MUT that the clause shall be implemented in its entirety and medical leave shall be granted for medical appointments in State-run institutions. The MUT has also raised some possible misalignment between the HR manual and the PSMC/DIER directions and these shall be followed.
