Election and Triennial General Conference Updates
As advised yesterday the MUT Council has overwhelmingly voted to accept the President’s proposal to set up a working group that includes both presidential candidates to assist the Union in appointing professional auditors to take care of the Union’s elections. The working group will be chaired by Dr Michael Tanti Dougall, the MUT’s legal advisor, who accepted this task immediately. The working group will be responsible for appointing auditors, and for outlining together with the auditors the election process.
The Union’s council also anonymously decided to postpone the Triennial General Conference to a later date as soon as the Union’s elections are over, especially in the circumstance that the country’s general election has been announced for just a week later than the date planned. More details will follow closer to the date.
