Directive to teachers on SEAC subjects training/consultation meetings – letter circulars DLAP 026/2019 and DLAP 035/2019
The MUT notes that teachers of English, Mathematics, Maltese, Science and Vocational subjects are being requested to attend training/consultation on SEAC subjects. The Union insists that SEAC subjects are to be considered as new subjects with dedicated MATSEC syllabi and assessment. The Union has already communicated with MEDE that SEAC subjects cannot be imposed on the respective teachers and hence it is directing all teachers of these subjects to refrain from attending SEAC subjects training/consultation. The MUT expects MEDE to first issue an expression of interest for teachers wishing to teach the said new subjects and then to proceed with the applicable training/consultation.
