Directive to all Educators regarding access arrangements for SEC, VET and SEAC exams
The MUT is noting that letter circular NSSS 04/21 issued by the Directorate of NSSS has changed the access arrangements procedures, introducing a new referral process with a deadline at the end of April. The MUT notes that that this exercise was previously not carried out by educators in schools who have always processed new referrals. The direction issued through the letter circular introduced additional duties for SEC exams, which are being requested both from educators (SMT) in senior schools and those in middle schools. The MUT notes that once more, work related to external exams of MATSEC are being delegated to educators in schools and this has to be stopped.
In view of the fact that this change was done without consultation with the union and in view of the impact of the requested duties on the workload of respective educators in schools, the MUT is directing all educators to refrain from complying with letter circular NSSS 04/21.
